  • Composite Fillings

Cavities are holes or crevices that develop in your teeth's hard service and are caused by germs that can erode the enamel. Although it's never a pleasant experience to hear you have a cavity, we're here to assist you and will repair your tooth back to good health by placing a dental filling. Dental fillings are made from either a composite resin or porcelain and are used to fill the cavity, reinforcing the entire structure of the tooth.

What to expect at your consultation: First things first: we will begin by removing any decay and bacteria from the tooth in order to prepare it for its new filling. We’ll then fill the cavity with a tooth-colored composite resin which we will mold and polish giving the filling a natural appearance that blends in with your other teeth.

  • Bridges

A dental bridge is a unique, porcelain replacement component that closes the gap between one or more missing teeth to restore your bite. Bridges are cemented in place and can endure anywhere from 5 to 15 years before needing to be replaced.

What to expect at your consultation: Root canals are usually perceived to be uncomfortable and unpleasant. During your treatment at Donelson Dental Center, your comfort will be our priority.  According to many people, the procedure is no more unpleasant than getting a filling and the pain from the infected tooth is frequently far worse than the root canal surgery itself.  We will start by numbing the region and then proceed to remove the irritated nerve that is producing discomfort.  Then we’ll clean and seal the emptied canal, after which we’ll restore or crown your damaged tooth so you can return to a pain-free life.

  • Root Canals

A root canal is a treatment that restores a tooth that has an infected or decaying inner structure. The inflammation within the tooth grows when it becomes severely damaged, resulting in discomfort. The aim of the root canal procedure is to eliminate the infection while also alleviating pain by removing the nerve and cleaning and sealing the inside of the tooth.

  • Dental Implants

If you have missing teeth, it's tough to feel good about yourself. Even such everyday activities as chewing, talking, smiling, or interacting with others might be difficult. Dental implants are a wonderful way to reclaim your life and become the most confident version of yourself again. An implant is made up of a prosthetic root, post, and crown that are carefully positioned to provide you with healthy and very natural-looking teeth. Dental implants bond with your jaw bone, ensuring that they will last a lifetime if they are cared for properly.

What to expect at your consultation: Dental implant surgery is a multi-step procedure. Following your initial examination, we will remove any remaining teeth from the region in which the implants will be placed. We will then insert the implant roots, which will eventually bond with your jaw bone naturally. Finally, the restorative crown will be placed onto the post. Depending on your requirements and the condition of your jawbone, the treatment might take as little as a few weeks.

  • Periodontal Disease Therapy

Gum disease, as it is more commonly known, is a condition in which the gums become infected, resulting in bone and tooth damage. It’s a serious condition that must be addressed to avoid losing teeth or even causing more significant overall health problems. Despite the fact that periodontal disease is quite prevalent, it can also be avoided through excellent oral hygiene, including twice-daily brushing, flossing once a day, and routine checkups with your dentist. Common warning signs include:

    • Bad breath that won’t go away
    • Red or swollen gums
    • Bleeding and/or sensitive gums
    • Receding gums
    • Painful chewing
    • Loose teeth

What to expect at your consultation: We will evaluate your situation and the extent of the periodontal disease to determine what treatment options are appropriate for you. A change in your oral hygiene regimen may be sufficient for milder instances. But even for milder to moderate cases, a deep cleaning may be the best treatment.  Deep cleaning, also known as scaling, is a procedure that removes the hardened plaque and germs in the area beneath your gum line, which is where the bacteria thrives. We may also utilize laser therapies for early, moderate, and advanced cases. If you have severe problems, we may suggest that you see a periodontist who specializes in gum disease.
